VACCITHON: A Unique Walkathon for 100% COVID-19 Vaccination in Rajasthan
On January 22nd, Ladli Foundation, in partnership with MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation & Equity, organized VACCITHON, a unique 5-kilometer Walkathon in Jaipur. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of COVID-19 vaccination and to encourage community participation to achieve 100% vaccination coverage in Rajasthan. The walkathon saw a turnout of over 2500 enthusiastic participants, walking from Albert Hall to Gandhi Circle, symbolizing a united effort toward health equity and vaccination awareness.
The walkathon received notable support and encouragement from distinguished guests, including Olympian and Padma Shri Awardee Ms. Krishna Poonia, Ms. United Nations Amisha Chaudhary, Bollywood child actor Tathastu, and key figures from USAID/India and JSI who are actively involved in health and immunization efforts across India. The participation of Senior Health System Strengthening Advisor Mr. Vijay Paulraj from USAID/India, JSI Operations Director Mr. Ashok Raisighani, and the State JSI team underscored the event’s importance as part of a larger movement to enhance community health and combat vaccine hesitancy
