HEALTH
India's Healthcare Challenge
While India has made strides towards upgrading its healthcare system, tremendous challenges remain in terms of equity in the provision and delivery of quality health care, especially across rural and underserved urban settings. Such disparity is starkly evidenced by an enormous gap between urban and rural provision of health care services.
A Rural-Urban Divide
About 70% of the Indian population resides in rural areas, which are under-served with the hosting of barely 30% of the country's healthcare infrastructure. It just means millions of citizens are denied easy access to even routine check-ups or vaccination, or emergency care.
Women's Health: An Injustice End
It affects women's health. Social stigma and ignorance of the health problem they are suffering from, with no access to health care services, deal a setback to easy access to reproductive health services, menstrual hygiene, and other health cases. It leads to preventable health problems and maternal mortality.
The Cost of Omission
The problem is compounded by the fact that there are inadequately skilled diagnostic facilities and unqualified medical practitioners. This normally leads to delayed diagnosis, wrong treatment, and even worse health effects.
The Silent Epidemics - An Alarming situation of TB, HIV/AIDS and Other Transferable Diseases
Even today, communicable diseases, such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS among others, remain quite a burden for India. They are causing significant problems to the vulnerable people of the country; thus, strategies of prevention and treatment need to be implemented more effectively.
The Road to Better Health
To address all these issues, India requires an integrated approach that would comprise Investing in Healthcare Infrastructure Building more hospitals, clinics, and health centers: especially in rural areas.
Gender equality : Empower women to take good decisions for their health and get the necessary care. Addressing cultural barriers entailed socializing individuals to transform damaging social norms through education and awareness campaigns. Strengthening Disease Surveillance and Response to Control Infectious Diseases * Strengthening disease surveillance and response. In doing so, India will certainly take a step forward towards that bright future when any individual in any state as well as any socio-economic status becomes entitled to good health and the chance of healthy living.

Stories of Change
My name is Sunita, and I am deeply thankful for the Samadhan Project by Ladli Foundation. During a medical camp, my CBC test revealed that I was severely anemic, with a hemoglobin level of just 8.3. The team provided me with an Anemia Eradication Kit, which included chana and jaggery, distributed every 15 days. Over six months, I followed their guidance and support. When they conducted another CBC test, my haemoglobin level had risen to 12.6. I feel healthier, more energetic, and truly grateful for this life-changing initiative that helped me overcome anemia.
- Sunita (Parvatiya Camp, RK Puram, Delhi)
Ladli has done a great work in my district ‘Dausa’. The team has been able to vaccinate the students & marginalized population of Dausa by sensitizing them about Covid appropriate behavior, breaking vaccine hesitancy & myths, convincing the people to get vaccinated, providing free BYJU’s subscription to school students. As the nation’s future, it is our (youth’s) responsibility to get vaccinated to stay healthy and leverage our voice to aware others to do the same. Our nation will progress only if its citizens are healthy, educated, and independent. Today, I’m honored to be a part of VACCITHON and I proudly state that I support its unique cause.
- Saiba Bano (Student at Dominant College, Dausa)
My name is Deepika, and I am from Kherisad, Rohtak, Haryana. Being part of the Saheli Project by Ladli Foundation has been an eye-opening experience for me. Through this program, I received my first CBC test and became aware of my health for the first time. The awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS and other transferable diseases were very informative and helped me understand the importance of health and hygiene. I also received a health card and guidance from the Ladli team, which motivated me to take better care of myself. Now, as the local coordinator for my village, I support Ladli Foundation in organizing camps and activities, ensuring my community benefits as much as I did
