Livelihood
Introduction
Millions of Indians, particularly women in rural areas, face significant barriers to economic empowerment. Over 80% of the rural population relies on informal, low-wage jobs with limited social security, and only about 5% of the entire workforce has access to formal vocational training (Periodic Labour Force Survey, 2020). For women, these challenges are especially pronounced: female labor force participation in India remains one of the lowest globally, with only 20% of women formally employed (World Bank, 2022). Additionally, nearly 60% of rural women lack access to basic skill development and financial literacy, further limiting opportunities for economic advancement and independence.
Our Work
Ladli Foundation is dedicated to breaking these cycles of poverty and exclusion by providing comprehensive solutions for sustainable livelihoods. Aligned with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), our evidence-based programs address the specific needs of these communities through targeted initiatives in skill development, digital literacy, and job placement support. We have established advanced computer labs that provide training in high-demand digital skills to over 5,000 students. These labs serve as a gateway to better employment opportunities. In addition to technical skills, we offer financial literacy workshops that enable women to manage their finances and savings effectively.
Vocational training is another key component of our livelihood strategy, enabling girls and women to access non-traditional career paths and break gender stereotypes. With over 16,000 girls having completed intermediate education and more than 2,000 gaining employment through our job fairs.
Ladli Foundation fosters resilience and self-reliance within communities, enabling them to achieve sustainable, long-term growth and social inclusion.

Stories of Change
My name is Mehak Saxena, and I am from 12th A. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Ladli Foundation for providing us with this incredible computer lab, which was inaugurated by the Director of Education. With the introduction of digital screens, we now have the opportunity to enhance our learning experience. Previously, we could only study from books, but today, we can create PPTs and engage in digital learning, preparing ourselves for the challenges of the modern world. This lab is also a valuable resource for preparing for the CUET exam, which will help us in our college admissions. We are truly thankful for this initiative.

My name is Sheetal, and I live in Laxmi Nagar. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Ladli Foundation for providing us with free computer and spoken English classes. These services are often very expensive and unaffordable for many girls, but Ladli Foundation made them accessible to us. Along with these classes, we also received various soft skills development workshops, which have greatly improved our communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Through the life skills workshops, we learned essential skills for personal and professional growth. Additionally, the job fairs organized by Ladli Foundation gave us valuable opportunities to explore career options. I am truly grateful for all these empowering initiatives that have opened new doors for my future.

My name is Meenakshi, and I live in West Vinod Nagar. Losing my father to COVID- 19 was a devastating blow, as he was the sole breadwinner of our family. After his passing, we faced immense challenges just to survive. However, everything changed when I enrolled in Ladli Foundation's Punur-Uthan initiative. Through this program, I received advanced computer training and vocational skills that gave me the tools I needed to rebuild my life. After completing the course, I was given the opportunity to attend a job fair organized by Ladli Foundation, where I successfully secured a job. This opportunity has allowed me to become the support my family needed. I will always be grateful to Ladli Foundation for giving me the skills and hope to overcome the hardships we faced.
